Life in Budapest
If you are foreigner coming to Hungary you might recognize the beauty of Budapest in a different way than we Hungarian people do.
If you visit us as a tourist and spend only a couple of days here or have a week to discover the city, there is no doubt that you will love it! In case you are relocated here with your family, you will become an “almost Hungarian”, knowing the pros and cons of Budapest and the country.
Expatriates mainly see the better side of Budapest. As most foreigners live either in the fancy downtown at Pest side or in the most elegant districts of Buda side, the city offers very comfortable and easy-to-live everyday life for them.
Budapest is getting more multicultural each day while keeping the original Hungarian roots: this is mainly because lots of foreigners work here for many years, and their customs also influence ours. We definitely do our best so that everyone enjoys staying here: Hungary is famous for its hospitality.
Budapest has lots of international restaurants, concerts with musicians from all over the world and we try to develop our services to a standard that fulfil requests of foreigners as well. Fortunately, by now most citizens of Budapest speak at least one foreign language. This is especially true for the younger generation who are not only speaking English well but they are also open towards foreign cultures.
